Imagine waking up to a winter wonderland and being just moments away from the pristine slopes of Perisher Valley. If you’re planning an overnight stay in Perisher Valley in winter, you’ll need to know the best transportation options from Jindabyne as there is no overnight parking in the valley. If you are coming in summer, it’s easy as you can park outside the lodge.

Check in is online. You will be sent a link 48 hours before you arrive. Please check in before you get to Kooloora Lodge.

 Early Check in or late Check out

An option to prolong your holiday is with early check in or late check out for an extra fee.

Early check in means that you can arrive at the lodge any time between 9.30am and 3.30pm on the day of your arrival to drop off your baggage.  We will store your luggage in our baggage area and you are able to access the common areas of the lodge to get ready for a day of skiing or boarding. The cost of this is $100/room.

Late check out means you still need to vacate your room at 9.30am, we will store your luggage in our baggage area and you are able to access the common areas of the lodge up to 330pm.  The cost of this is $100/room.

There is limited availability and you can book this via email or online up to one day prior to arrival.  All baggage must be clearly marked with your name.

Over snow transport

Over snow transfers from Perisher Station on arrival days are included for arrivals between 3.30pm and 10pm unless you have booked early check in package where it is included for arrivals from 9am on arrival day. There is a new operator this year 4site Australia and they are introducing a computer system to ensure your smooth passage.

Over snow transfers to Perisher Station on departure days are included for departures between 7am and 930am unless you have booked late check out package where it is included for departures up to 330pm on departure day.

Any guest arriving or departing outside these hours will need to organise their own transfers at their own cost.

The courtesy skier pickup is provided solely for the convenience of our guests who may not want to walk 700 metres to or from the lifts.  This complementary service is not available on arrival and departure days.

The morning skier pick up is 8.45am from Kooloora Lodge to Perisher Valley is included in your room charge. Skiers must be waiting out the front of Kooloora Lodge prior to 8.45am as there is only one service.

The afternoon skier drop off from Perisher to Kooloora Lodge between 330pm and 430pm are included in your room charge.

We make every reasonable effort to ensure this is available.  It runs to a daily schedule. No warranty or guarantee is given for its availability.  If it is full you will have to wait for a later service. We will not incur costs, liabilities or penalties as a result of its unavailability. If you choose to use the pickup outside the daily schedule it is at your own cost.

The Ski Room

On entering the lodge first on the left is the ski room, a place to leave your skis or snowboard. Then enter the dry room where you remove your boots and wet clothes so that they dry overnight.

This is where all the snow toys are kept. We have toboggans, snow shoes and cross country skis. These are available for use as long as you understand we are not liable for any injuries. Please ensure you read the disclaimer. If you lose our toys you will need to replace them.

Washing Machine

The washing machine is located in the Ski Room.  We have unlocked the coin box.  To operate machine open coin box take our 3 coins, replace coin box and insert coins. Washing powder is available for your use.  The dryer has a coin box too.  You just need 2 coins for the dryer and don’t forget to ensure lint is removed.

The Licensed Restaurant

Kooloora Licensed Restaurant serves hot breakfast, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner included in the tariff.

The hot breakfast each morning is perfect fuel before you hit the slopes for the day.  It is served at 8am each morning.

The bespoke set dinner menu goes out daily on our food board. Relax and unwind with a delicious meal prepared in house from local and season ingredients.

Our premises is fully licensed and we stock a range of local beverages including Gluhwien, sparkling wines, beers, wine, schnapps, spirits and soft drinks. You may purchase drinks from 4.30pm each day. We have a special drinks package for in house guests of up to 4 drinks per person per night (Gluhwein, wine, beer, schnapps). The cost is $30 and limited to one per night.

If you have a mate or a friend not staying with us who would like to come to dinner cost is $70 adults and $30 kids under 12 years old. Bookings required.

Coffee and tea is available all day long.  Help yourself.  Steaming water comes from the RHS tap at the sink.  Tea, instant  coffee and sugar are in the drawer below the toasters.  Teapots and mugs above the sink.

Homemade teas are made by Rosemary.  You can sample them from the tins in the drawer or take some home for $20 per packet.

If you haven’t used the coffee machine before, don’t worry, it’s easy. The team will clean and fill the machine every morning but its always a good idea to check a few things to get you a coffee sooner

  1. Check the water tank on the right hand side. Pull it out and refill it is less than half full
  2. If there are any red lights on the control panel ask a staff member to look at it.
  3. If there are no lights on the control panel place a glass under the coffee drip and press the power button. Wait until the cleaning cycle completes.
  4. Put your mug under the coffee drip
  5. Select your coffee type by pressing the desired button.
  6. Wait for you coffee to brew
  7. You can foam milk with the separate foamer in much the same way. Please use a clean cup for foaming and clean up any mess after use.

The Bar

The bar is open from 430pm daily until we go to bed.  There is a bar menu in the dining room and each night there will be someone on duty to serve you.  You can either pay as you go with the eftpos machine in the dining room or have your drinks recorded and added to your total on check out.

The Lounge

Guest lounge with cosy fireplace and state of art television.

After a big day skiing melt into the leather lounge or loll about in front of the fire on the Flokati NZ wool rug or sit on the seats to compare ski stories with the other guests.

Ares Ski is that magical time of a ski holiday where the snow boots come off your tired feet and round two of the fun starts. Afternoon tea and drinks are served at 430pm in the lounge.  Relax with the other guests after a hard day of skiing or snowboarding. The beverage menu containing a selection of sparkling, white wine, red wines, beer spirits, liquors and non-alcoholic drinks is available.

Games are available for use in the cupboards under the TV in the lounge. Please return them to the cupboard after use.

The Kitchen

This is where all the magic happens with our own private chef.  This space is out of bounds for guests during winter.

Kids meals and special dietary needs can be catered for if we know on ahead. Please email info@koolooralodge.com one week in advance to your arrival for special food needs.

The Bedrooms

Housekeeping is completed before you arrive. All linen is included in the price of the room. There is no daily service. If you require anything let us know.  All rooms are configured with a king/queen bed.  If you forgot to let us know of an alternative configuration and we need to reconfigure your room the cost is $50.  Extra towels are $6 each or pop them in the washing machine & dryer.

The TV in your room is connected to one of the wifi channels in the building. It has Chromcast to connect to your phone but no TV signal.

To operate simply press the power button on the remote and wait for the Google Tv screen to come up. There are many free TV channels such as YouTube and also Netflix. All accessible via the remote. If it does not work immediately turn it off and back on at the wall circuit.  If it still does not work come and find us to show you how to operate it.

If you wish to cast from you phone, make sure you are on the same wifi channel as the TV.

Wifi

WiFi is available throughout the chalet. The code is porcupine.  There are 3 different routers Kooloora Guest 1, 2 & 3.
